A robust healthcare ecosystem is key to a healthy society, and clinical staff (nurses, HCAs, phlebotomists etc) are the backbone of this. Clinicians all play crucial roles in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. At Ally Health, we are constantly speaking with our clinical care staff to better understand their experiences and through this, the ways we can make their lives easier through our platform and future tech developments. Ally Health is making change in the industry through driving efficiencies in the way clinical staff work day-to-day through optimizing systems (API-led platform with supply / demand aggregation) – previously these systems have otherwise been outdated and ill-suited for the ways of working on-demand and in the home.
Below, we have a few insights from an HCA in our cohort who has shared some feedback on her experience in the industry so far and working with Ally Health.
Why did you want to join the company?
I love that Ally Health is passionate about delivering gold standard care and working hard to provide a reliable, efficient and compassionate service. I love how Ally Health cares about their employees and aims to help you reach your potential by offering a range of diverse shifts and training opportunities.
Tell us a bit more about the work you’re doing with Ally Health.
I work as a Healthcare Practitioner/Phlebotomist and I work within the community as well as within clinics and various other settings to provide Phlebotomy services. As well as these tasks I am undertaking addtional duties such as health screening for various communities, providing BMI measurements, Glucose, Diabetes, Blood pressure and Cholesterol checks. I also perform Qrisk assessments to determine the likelihood of a patients’ risk of having a heart attack or stroke within the next ten years.
Do you look forward to using all of your skills in this role?
I love how varied my role with Ally Health is, and I particularly love how my role allows me to continuously develop and enhance my skills to allow me to grow professionally.
Do you work for other groups? Outside of Ally Health? If so, what’s the difference in the experience?
I do work for other companies, but I find that Ally Health provides me with a more diverse range of shifts as I am working within the community as well as within clinical settings. No two days are the same, when I take on shifts with Ally Health and I have met some fantastic clinicians and been able to work with a diverse range of people within a wide range of communities.
Do you or have you worked in the NHS and how does this experience differ?
I have previously worked within the NHS, but the majority of my work is with Private employers. From my experience, I can say that I love how Ally Health tailors a personalized approach to each client. This approach ensures everyone receives the best level of care. The NHS is a wonderful service but I can recognise that it is under strain right now.
In conclusion, working for a company that provides in-home care and on-demand care can be a very rewarding experience for clinical care staff. It provides them with an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients and to gain valuable experience in various healthcare settings. We will continue to provide our clinical staff with the opportunity to practice in different environments and continue to develop their skills. We will do all this while ensuring the systems we provide clinical care staff with make life and the ways of working easier rather than adding more administrative tasks onto their plate.
